The Norwegian Buhund Club was formed in 1967 and is registered with the Kennel Club of Great Britain.

In April 2016 the club name was changed to the Norwegian Buhund Club of the UK. The club holds three shows a year exclusively for Buhunds, as well as organising informal meet ups known as Bu Bumbles throughout the year at different locations
