Critiques

I would like to thank The Norwegian Buhund Club of UK for inviting me to judge my second CC appointment in this breed. I had a truly lovely day and thoroughly enjoyed my time with this wonderful breed. There was a really warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the day, which made it all the more enjoyable. It was so nice to see how supportive everyone was of one another, and that lovely spirit really stood out. I was delighted by the quality of the dogs on the day, and in several classes, I had some very hard decisions to make, which is always a positive reflection on the breed. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the puppy’s all of which were lovely and I cannot wait to see them grow. Thank you so much to everyone who entered under me, and to the club for their kind hospitality, lovely gift, and for making it such a special and enjoyable day.

Puppy Dog

1st Dosson, Mrs M & Mr D, Kimura’s Ola Normann

Nice puppy with a good head of a nice wedged-shape. Nice proportions with level topline. Legs straight and strong. Tail well curled and set correctly. Lovely wheaten coloured coat which he had plenty of. Moved extremely well showing himself off nicely.

2nd Curnow Mr C & Mrs B, Draccus Yin

Another nice puppy of good proportions. Nice pointed ears and pleasing head with dark eye. Good bone and nice small oval feet. Level topline and nice tightly curled tail. Also moved extremely well once settled.

1st Denham-Horton, Mrs C & Bolton, Mrs L, Tapui Haraldsson at Jjavacobe JW

Nice well balanced male. Pleasing head and expression with excellent ears, absolutely loved his head. Good proportions throughout, straight front legs and nice small feet. Really lovely, tightly curled tail. Movement was excellent, really free and happy. Shown in excellent condition, nice colour and texture to his coat. Look forward to this young dogs future. RCC.

Light lean head with lovely sharply pointed ears. Smaller build than first but still has good proportions throughout. Level topline and nicely set well curled tail. Moved nicely round the ring.

3rd Cobb, Cobb & Kent, Mrs J, Mr M & Mrs N, Knytshall Ragged Robin

Nice broad head between well set ears. Lovely straight legs with small feet. Level topline into a well curled tail. Moved well round the ring.

1st Corin, Ms M & Camm Mr A, Mazads Nom De Plume

Nice shape to head and good length of muzzle. Lovely deep chest with good straight legs. Level topline and tightly curled tail. His coat was a gorgeous colour and was of good quality. Moved lovely.

Open Dog

1st Lambert, Mrs C, Sturtmoor’s Gon’n Dun It

Quality male, masculine and well balanced. Handsome wedge-shaped head with dark eye and keen expression. Well set triangular ears. Strong neck into well laid shoulder, well proportioned body with a level topline. Excellent bone throughout. Well curled tail carried correctly. In first class condition with a wonderful texture to his coat. Moved free and sound round the ring with good reach and drive. An impressive example of the breed and just pipped to the post by the bitch for BIS. DCC & RBIS.

2nd Corin, Mrs M & Camm, Mr A, Ch Kligenthal Almuric ShCEx

Nice head with a lovely dark eye. Good shape to ears. Nice even proportions when viewed from the side. Straight legs. Level topline and neatly curled tail. Excellent mover.

3rd Dosson, Mrs M & Mr D, Kligenthal Bran Mak Morn

Excellent head with a typical buhund expression. Nice erect ears and dark eyes. Proportions good and lovely small feet. Lovely set tail. Moved well.

Champion Dog

1st Langford, Mr D & Mrs J, Ch/Ir Ch Frostisen Zeffer

Good head with medium sized muzzle and lovely dark eye. Lovely front with good angulations and straight front legs. Even throughout with a perfect level topline. Stood square and nice rear angulation. Excellently set tail which was curled perfectly. Moved lovely with a nice flow to his rhythm.

2nd Shorer-Wheeler, Ms J, Ch Koromandel Tusen Takk JW

Nice happy expression and dark eye. Nice front proportions, medium length neck. Deep chest and lean legs with small oval feet. Nicely set tail. Excellent coat with an attractive colour. Lovely mover, light an active.

Nice veteran. Good shaped head and pointed ears. Nice front with deep chest and straight front legs. Nice proportions throughout. Nice tightly curled tail. Moved extremely well, free and happy. RBVIS

Very promising puppy of lovely breed type. Pretty wedged-shaped head with a lovely dark eye. Nicely set ears and an alert expression. Pleasing outline with good neck and shoulders into a level topline. Tightly curled tail which is correctly carried. Moved confidently round the ring covering the ground and showing herself off nicely. A very appealing youngster that I loved. Considered her for the RBCC. Look forward to her future. BPIS.

Lovely lively expression. Head broad between highly placed, erect ears. Strong jaw. Nice front with level topline. Good rear end and well curled tail. Best mover in the class.

2nd Rumsey, Mrs L, Wheatshade Iridium Sky

Nice head and expression. Good neck and deep chest. Nice rear end and good angulations with strong hocks. Small oval feet. Good mover.

3rd Stonton, Ms S, Wheatshade Snow Dreamer

Nice length of muzzle with broad head between the ears. Nice deep chest. Lovely perfectly curled tail. Lovely texture to her coat which had a lovely colour. Moved well.

Lean light head narrowing towards the nose, erect ears. Straight front legs and level topline. Nice rear angulations and well curled tail. Lovely shine to her coat. Out moved everyone else in the class.

2nd Rumsey, Mrs L, Kata Syndattir Av Fjeldvidda At Wheatshade (Imp Nld)

Larger than first. Nice shape to her head with alert expression. Deep chest and level topline. Nice feet. Good coat of lovely texture and nice colour. Moved well.

Good head with a nice wedged-shaped to it. Nice front and deep chest. Level topline. Nice rear angulations. Moved nice.

Lovely kind but alert expression. Erect ears and extremely lovely dark eyes. Well proportioned with a lovely front angulation and straight front limbs. Deep chest and well set tail. Lovely coat with a nice colour. Moved well.

2nd Taylor, Taylor, Taylor & Frost-Treadwell, Ir Ch Frostisen Blakk Zitter

Different from first. Nice dark eye giving a kind expression. Good length to muzzle with strong jaw. Nice front with strong legs and small oval feet. Level topline and nice rear end angulations. Good tail. Moved well.

Champion Bitch

1st Irvine, Mrs K, Ch Blackcombe Bodil At Tapui (Imp Aus)

Attractive bitch of lovely type, feminine in every way and well balanced throughout. Pleasing wedge-shaped head with dark eye and lovely pointed ears making her look beautiful. Nice strong neck and shoulders into level topline ending in a perfectly curled tail. Excellent bone and well proportioned throughout. Small, oval feet finishing her neat outline nicely. Shown in wonderful coat of such good harsh texture. Wonderful mover, covering the ground with ease, light and active with excellent stride, holding her shape throughout. My favourite of the day and a superb example of the breed. BCC & BIS.

2nd Wheeler, Mr O, Ch Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel JW

Another lovely bitch of pleasing type. Nice head with good ears and alert expression. Excellent front and level topline with correctly curled tail. Even throughout. Lovely black coat of good texture. Moved soundly and steady. RBCC.

Veteran Bitch

Really happy girl with a nice dark eye and a lively fearless expression. Good front and rear angulations. Medium length neck. Level topline. Perfectly curled tail which was set correctly. Excellent mover, light and active round the ring without exaggeration.

2nd Frost, Frost-Treadwell & Walmsley, Mrs K, Mrs E & Mrs J, Trelowen Amelia At Frostisen VW

Another happy girl, dark eye and erect ears. Good front with medium length of neck and straight limbs. Well positioned tail. Another good mover.

Excellent veteran Bitch showed in really good condition for her age. A typical head of good proportions. Nice dark eye. Excellent front followed by a level topline. Nice rear proportions. A happy girl, clearly enjoying herself with the attitude of a true buhund which I loved. Moved extremely well for her age, sound a steady throughout. BVIS.
